How to Set Up SMTP Integration?

To send credential emails from your own account instead of POK's default sender, connect POK Proof of Knowledge to your email provider through an SMTP integration. POK supports Gmail, SendGrid, iCloud, Mailgun, Brevo, Microsoft 365, and any custom SMTP server. The setup takes only a few minutes once you have your provider credentials at hand.

Before you start: what you'll need

Gather this information from your email provider before linking the integration. The exact values depend on the provider you choose:

  • SMTP server address (host), for example smtp.yourprovider.com
  • SMTP port used by your provider
  • Username, usually the full email address of the sending account
  • Password or app password for that account. Some providers require an app-specific password instead of your regular account password; for SendGrid, you use an API key instead
  • Sender email address: the address your recipients will see as the sender

If you are unsure where to find these values, check your provider's documentation on SMTP settings or API keys.

Choose your provider

  1. In the certifier app, go to Branding > Emails > Sending details.

  2. Scroll to the Integrations section and click Link.

  3. In the provider form, select the provider you want to connect.

  4. Complete the form with the credentials from the checklist above.

Supported providers

  • Gmail: SMTP with your Google account
  • SendGrid: connects with an API key
  • iCloud: SMTP with your Apple account
  • Mailgun: SMTP credentials from your Mailgun domain
  • Brevo: SMTP credentials from your Brevo account
  • Microsoft 365: your Microsoft work account
  • Custom SMTP: any other provider that exposes standard SMTP credentials
