How to Brand Your Recipients' Credential Wallet

The recipient wallet is where the people you issue credentials to keep them, both the credentials POK Proof of Knowledge issued and any external credentials they added from elsewhere. Recipient wallet branding lets your organization put its own logo, colors, and banner on that wallet, and its own style on the Apple Wallet and Google Wallet passes recipients can add to their phone.

You style the in-POK wallet and the two wallet-pass platforms separately, and recipients only see the change once you save it.

Recipient wallet branding is a premium feature, enabled per organization. To turn it on, talk to your account executive or write to contact@pok.tech.

Open Recipient wallet branding​

Open "Branding" from the main menu. Its "Recipient wallet" card is marked as a premium feature; click "Customize" to open the section. It has two tabs: "Recipient profile" for the in-POK wallet, and "External Wallet" for the Apple Wallet and Google Wallet passes.

Style the in-POK wallet​

The "Recipient profile" tab opens on "Customize your recipients' virtual wallet": add your logo, choose the header color, include a banner, and adjust styles to reflect your brand. A preview of the wallet updates as you make changes, in a desktop or a mobile size.

  • Logo and header color. Upload a logo, PNG or JPG, for the top of the wallet page, and pick the color behind it. This is the same header editor used in Page customization. Until you upload one, the wallet shows POK's own logo.
  • Banner. Upload a banner image, PNG or JPG, and pick its background color. The editor suggests 1440 x 160 px.
  • Colors. Three more colors, each with its own effect:
    • Primary color: "This color will be used on buttons and on the credential count badge text."
    • Badge background color: "Allows changing the background color of the credential count badge."
    • Tab color: "Allows changing the tab selector color."

The preview shows a sample count and six sample credentials titled "Engineer" so you can check contrast and legibility before you save.

Style the Apple Wallet and Google Wallet passes​

The "External Wallet" tab has its own sub-tabs, "Apple Wallet" and "Google Wallet": one style per platform.

Both platforms let you set:

  • Background color: the color behind the pass.
  • Organization logo: upload a PNG image. Until you upload one, the pass shows POK's own logo.

Apple Wallet has two more color controls, "Labels" and "Content", both labeled "Text color": one changes the color of the capitalized field labels (Title, Name, Organization on the pass), the other changes the color of the values under them. Google Wallet does not have these two: only its background color and logo are configurable.

The preview next to the toolbar shows a sample credential styled with your choices: the logo, the Title, Name and Organization fields with sample values, a thumbnail of a sample certificate, and a QR code. The Apple Wallet preview also shows the two small status icons a real pass carries.

What your recipients see in their wallet​

Recipients see a "More credentials" section with two tabs, "POK credentials" and "External credentials", and a count of how many credentials they have. Each credential card shows who issued it, Issued by: <organization>, and from its menu a recipient can choose "Make this credential private".

This matters beyond the wallet: making a credential private is the same visibility switch that decides whether it can be found through your organization's Credential lookup. A credential a recipient marks private is not returned by any search there.

Someone who has POK credentials but has not yet signed in to manage them sees a prompt titled "Manage your credentials", inviting them to sign up so they can choose which credentials to display and see which ones are expired. Save your changes​

"Recipient profile" and "External Wallet" each have their own "Save" button, inactive until you change something. Leaving "Recipient profile" with unsaved changes shows this warning:

Warning! You have unsaved changes! Close this message with the "Cancel" button and click "Save" before leaving the screen.

"External Wallet" warns you the same way before you navigate away with changes pending, and closing or refreshing the browser tab while either one is unsaved triggers the browser's own confirmation prompt too.

The logo does not appear​

  1. The file is the wrong format. The External Wallet organization logo only accepts PNG. The Recipient profile header logo and banner accept PNG or JPG. A file in any other format is not accepted.

  2. The change was never saved. The preview updates as soon as you upload an image, but recipients only see it once you click "Save".

The pass on someone's phone still shows the old colors​

Apple Wallet and Google Wallet keep a pass as it looked the moment it was added to the phone. Changing colors or the logo in POK does not push the update to a pass already there. Ask the recipient to remove the pass and add it again from their credential to see the new design.
