Page metrics: see visits, downloads, and ad clicks on your custom pages

Custom pages are where the people who open your credentials actually land: your logo, your banner, and up to four ads, wrapped around the credential itself. Page metrics is the screen that tells you what happened once they got there: how many credentials on that page were viewed, verified, and downloaded, and how many visitors clicked the ads you placed, over whatever date range you choose.

Page metrics is a premium feature, enabled per organization. To turn it on, talk to your account executive or write to contact@pok.tech.

Open the metrics for one page

  1. Open "Branding" and continue into the Pages section to reach "My Custom Pages" (see Page customization if you have not created a page yet).
  2. Find the page you want in the list.
  3. Click "see metrics" next to it.

The link reads "see more" instead if your organization also has lead capture turned on, a separate feature, or "view leads" if only lead capture is on and that page already has a lead ad.

The screen that opens is headed with the page's own name rather than a generic label, with a back arrow that returns you to "My Custom Pages."

Choose the period

A date control in the upper right defaults to the last 30 days. Click it to open a two-month calendar, pick a start and end date, and confirm. Every number on the screen, the summary cards and the ad breakdown alike, reflects only that period.

Every metric on the page

Four cards summarize the whole page for the selected period:

  • "Credentials Viewed": how many times a credential linked to this page was opened, whether visitors reached it under POK's domain or your own, if you have set up a custom domain.
  • "Verified": how many of those visits checked the credential's authenticity, using the "Validate credential" button on the credential view.
  • "Downloaded": how many of those visits clicked "Download" to export the credential.
  • "Ad Clicks": how many clicks landed on any of the page's ads, added together.
  • "Leads": how many visitors submitted their contact information through one of the page's ads (see below).

"Verified," "Downloaded," "Ad Clicks," and "Leads" each show a small progress bar next to the number, as a percentage of "Credentials Viewed" for the same period. The banner image at the top of the page is never part of these numbers: it has no link of its own, so nothing can click it. What gets measured is the up to four ads you placed in the page editor.

Ad Interactions: what a click on one of your ads means

Below the summary, "Ad Interactions" always shows four cards, one per ad slot on the page, even a slot with no ad in it, or "The selected page has no ads." if the page has none at all. Each card shows a preview of the ad and:

  • "Ad Type:": Text, Image, Video, or Document. An ad configured to capture leads reads "Lead" instead, with its underlying format in parentheses, for example "Lead (Image)."
  • "Updated:": the date this version of the ad went live, its creation date if you have never edited it.
  • "Clicks:": how many times that ad was clicked in the selected period. For a Text, Image, or Document ad this is opening its link or file; for a Video it is playing the embedded player in place; for a lead ad it is opening the contact form.
  • "Leads:", on a lead ad: how many visitors actually submitted that form, not just how many opened it.
  • A progress bar under the preview, showing this ad's share of the page's total "Ad Clicks," not of its own views.

If you edit an ad, for example swapping its image or link, its previous version keeps its own numbers and the new one starts at zero. Once an ad has more than one version in the selected period, a small clock icon opens "Ad History": "Here you can see the change history of this ad and its metrics over time," listing each version with the dates it was active, "Active from: [date] to [date]," and its own clicks and leads. The card itself then adds "Total clicks:" and, if the ad ever had leads, "Total leads:," each summing every version, as their tooltips spell out.

Using ad clicks for a campaign

An ad's "Clicks" tells you whether visitors notice it at all: which position, format, and message get attention on a page people only reach by opening a credential. A plain Text, Image, Video, or Document ad only ever produces clicks, since all it does is open a link or a file. If the goal is capturing who is interested, for example to follow up after a campaign, the ad has to be a lead ad: instead of opening a link, it redirects visitors to a form asking for their first name, last name, and email, and only a submitted form counts toward "Leads." Clicks with no leads on that ad usually means visitors are opening the form and not finishing it.

Where an ad sits also decides whether visitors can click it at all. If the page uses a top or bottom carousel layout instead of the side rail, only three of the four ad slots actually show to visitors; an ad saved in the fourth one still gets its own card in "Ad Interactions," but nobody ever sees it to click.

If your organization also has lead capture enabled, this same screen adds a full "Leads collected:" table underneath, with every submitted form's first name, last name, and email, downloadable as a CSV. That table belongs to lead capture, a separate premium feature; this article covers only the numbers above it.

How this differs from other metrics

Page metrics is scoped to one custom page and its ads. It says nothing about credentials that were never linked to a page, or about your organization's issuance activity in general: that is what General metrics covers. It is also not the same as Employability, which tracks what happens after a credential is shared, such as a job change or a promotion, rather than visits to the page itself. If you also want these visits to feed a Google Ads retargeting campaign, that is a separate, complementary feature: see Google Ads retargeting.

A page's metrics show no data

Work through these in order:

  1. Page metrics is not enabled for your organization. It is a separate, optional layer on top of custom pages, so you can still create, brand, and link a page without it; opening its metrics shows a locked screen instead of numbers.
  2. The selected date range misses the visits. The date control at the top governs every number on the screen; widen it or move it to cover when the credential was actually viewed.
  3. No credential is linked to this page yet, or nobody opened it. "Credentials Viewed" and the rest stay at zero until both are true; see Page customization to link a credential to the page.
  4. The page has no ads. "Ad Interactions" reads "The selected page has no ads." even when the other cards show real numbers, since a page can get visits without ever having an ad on it.

The numbers look lower than expected

  1. Check the date range first. It applies to the ad breakdown as much as to the summary cards.
  2. An edited ad restarts its plain "Clicks:" and "Leads:" at zero. Compare "Total clicks:" and "Total leads:" instead, which add up every version of the ad.
  3. A lead ad's "Leads:" only counts a submitted form, not an opened one. Clicks with no leads on that ad usually means visitors are opening the form and abandoning it.
  4. An ad saved in the fourth carousel slot is never shown. If the page uses a top or bottom carousel layout, move that ad into one of the other three positions.
